This warehouse conversion of a former storage facility employs a neutral and utilitarian material palette. The conversion to a new office space provides a place of work for a rapidly growing building company and was designed with modular components to meet a tight time program.
The plan is organized into a series of zones for various project teams, with glazed offices and dispersed meeting rooms. A critical component of the design was to make the most of natural light through the glass bricks on the east and glazing on the western edge. Low-lying joinery and reflective materials such as galvanized and stainless steel allow light to travel deep into the building’s floorplate.
Services and acoustic performance were important considerations for the daily operation of the office which led to the introduction of Webforge panels that make up the ceiling lining [3]. The panels act as a diffuser between mechanical services and acoustic baffling and in the gaps between panels create a zone for strip lighting.
